I want to give you permission to DREAM BIG! That was one of my positive takeaways from being in a multi-level marketing company. The leaders in the company opened my mind to having a bigger vision for my life. I started working full-time right out of high school. I had responsibilities and bills to pay. I didn’t have the luxury to ‘DREAM BIG’. I was living paycheck to paycheck and still am in 2018. I do want to change that. It is a part of how I am defining my success.
I want to build financial stability, a good savings account, and investment portfolio. I am going to talk to you a little bit about my dreams/goals. This is how I define success, but you can define success in any way you want. Some of you will be happy to be a stay-at-home mom, while others want to work part-time or full-time. Each woman has her own journey. How you live your life and how you define success doesn’t have to look like mine. You are unique. David’s life and calling didn’t look like Jacob’s life, but they were both men of God.
So how am I defining financial success? I want to earn three hundred thousand dollars a year by 2028. That may seem like a lot to some of you and others think, “I want more than that”. If you want to earn more or less that’s okay. It’s my personal goal and just like everyone has a different fingerprint, everyone’s desires are going to be different. I want to raise my children, build a home, pay it off, pay off student loans, fund my children’s college accounts and wedding funds, take family vacations, etc.
There is more to success than finances. I believe there are six other facets to our lives: spiritual, physical, relational, mental, career and giving. My spiritual goal is to be actively pursuing a relationship with God through listening to others teach the Word and in my own Bible time. My physical goal is to weigh 135 pounds and I want to run a half marathon at Disney. My relational goals are to have a better connection with my children because I am in their life every day or nearly every day. I also want to have good friends and God willing a good husband. My mental goals are to stay mentally stable and not let anxiety rob me of opportunities. My career goal right now is to run my own digital marketing company. I want to focus on helping Christian small businesses, traditional missionaries, ministries of all sizes and social media missionaries. I also have a passion to help fairtrade organizations and eco-friendly companies. I do want to focus on this ministry as a career, but I am not sure how much I can count on donations. I don’t know if people will want to support a social media missionary. Because of this, I want this blog to bring in an income and use YouTube, Instagram, etc to make a living. I do want to write books and Bible study materials. However, I want to give it away for free so there won’t be an income from it. My giving/charity goal is to support a child through Compassion International or another organization. I want to help women get through college and make a better life for themselves. I have a lot of ideas about how I am going to do that, but I really don’t know what would be the best way to go about that.
The word says that God wants to give us the desires of our heart, but it also says we will face struggles. I have definitely faced and overcome challenges in my life and I will have more challenges to overcome to reach my goals. I bet you can think of challenges in your own life that you have overcome. There will be more challenges in your life, but the amount of victory that you have depends on how you react to the problem.
I am going to create a board on Pinterest called “Dreaming BIG”. I suggest you do the same and make another board called “My Victories”. You can find pictures that represent your dreams and use the picmonkey or Canva to add a text to the picture. If you aren’t familiar with the process let me know and I will make a blog post or video about creating these pics. It is important to have goals and dreams that are bigger than your day-to-day life. So start dreaming BIG!
